Look forward to the new releases based on the latest and, dare i say, greatest android version, Android 14 from Google. All the features you know and love from PE are all present, as well as some new A14 exclusives, like AI wallpapers and Circle to Search. PE 14 is now based on the February 2024 QPR1 AOSP release.

Now lets come to the rest of the news, coming to why PE 14 has taken so much longer than usual: jhenrique09, the founder and head of PE, decided to take a small step down from the tough and time-consuming work of updating the android source code, to focus on his job and life. He is still a very big and integral part of Team PE, but now, in a slightly smaller capacity. We hope you show him the support and kind words that he deserves for being the one who has brought PE to become the ROM we all love. Due to this, we at the core team of team PE had to have many discussions and a lot of details needed to be planned to ensure that we did justice to jhenrique's exemplary work till date. Rest assured, you are still in great hands, and the vision and goal of PixelExperience has not changed a single bit.

We at Team Pixel Experience hope you like the new (and improved) PE 14!

Hello Pixel Experience 14!

For the last few months, all you have heard from us in regards to android 14 has been: “More news soon”, and today we are glad to share our plans for release timelines. First though, lets talk about October patch.

Due to time constraints and other problems in our lives, we are preferring to spend all our resources on making android 14 available, and to achieve this, we are ending updates support for android 13. Maintainers of your devices are free to release an update, if they feel the need for it, but an update this month wont be forced.

Now, lets talk about android 14. According to our current plans, Pixel Experience 14 should release next month, that is November. We are doing our best to deliver on the quality we are known for, and we appreciate all of your patience with us through the process.

Hope to see you soon on the much awaited a14 update.

The last little update post from us said everything we needed to say, so we will keep this one short. We have merged these patches into our source and updates should start to roll out soon. We hope Google doesnt have any more surprises up their sleeve this time around, and that our next post here will bring some news about android 14, as we know you are all patiently waiting to hear about the next major version.

Without further ado, here’s the changelog for both Standard and Plus versions:

As autumn approaches, this September unfolds a new chapter for PixelExperience. This month diverges slightly from our traditional trajectory but remains testament to our dedicated commitment to maintaining and enhancing your Android experience.

We also need to address the elephants in the room: the lack of Android 14 news as promised last time and the absence of the September 2023 Security Patch. Lets talk about the September Security Patch first. Normally, we’d merge the respective security patch each month. Unfortunately, Google hasn’t released a complete version for this period which means we are unable to incorporate it.

Coming to the lack of A14 news as promised last month, all we can offer, for now, are our apologies, since google threw everyone a curve ball by delaying the release of Android 14 at the last possible moment.

Given the exceptional scenario we find ourselves in with the lack of a complete security patch, this month’s updates are not obligatory for maintainers. What does this mean for you? The rollout of this month’s updates will be at the discretion of our device maintainers. Some may release updates, others may not.

Finally, an exciting tidbit for the road ahead – the anticipated arrival of Android 14! With its official release slated for next month, we are enthusiastically preparing to introduce the newest iteration of Android into our ecosystem and look forward to you guys, the users, being able to get your hands on it in the coming months.

September 2023 may diverge slightly from the norm, with its share of choices and anticipation, but it continues to pave the exciting road ahead. More enhancements and features will follow, including the thrilling incorporation of Android 14. Remember to check your device’s specific changelog for any additional fixes and improvements implemented by your device maintainer.

If you encounter any issues, please use our Issue Tracker to report them.

We are grateful for your continued support in helping us maintain our infrastructure and create a seamless experience on PixelExperience.
A new partnership

As previously said in our Telegram channel, we’d like to thank RDPWindows to the new sponsorship of our build servers.

We will have them for at least 3 months, and we hope to make a bigger and longstanding partnership from there onwards.

Nothing is quite that easy though

As some of you might know the costs involving infrastructure for us are major especially for the compilation of the builds. As per that we are always looking for sponsors for such.

In the past had sponsors for some of our infrastructure, from file hosting to buildservers, however due to business constraints from their end the past partnerships were terminated.

If any company is interested in such partnerships, especially in regards to servers capacity great enough for our build compilation demand, please contact anyone from the admin team. Thank you.

Yet another version of Android past through, yet another cycle that ends. This month is our last month of support of Android 12. With it the Android 13 Stable builds for all the supported devices and also… Wait Plus Edition?

Yep. Plus Edition builds this time around are coming earlier than usual together with the stable releases.

And if you are a builder, the applications for official status are reopened.

Below is the changelog for the Stable releases:

Initial Android 13 Stable release

Initial Android 13 Plus Edition builds

Official devices applications are reopened

Face Unlock is back

Updated translations

Remember: OTA updates from Android 12 to Android 13 aren’t supported, you have to install them manually.

Flashing over from the Beta to the stable builds are fine, however if you have any bugs, make a clean install.

Please contact your specific device maintainer for a device-specific changelog, but please don’t spam, all our maintainers do Custom ROM work in their free time, keep human decency in mind and don’t ask for an ETA.
